A call from eminent Māori leaders sees the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency organise this gathering. The hui will launch the Māori-led inquiry into the way that the Ministry for Vulnerable Children (calling themselves Oranga Tamariki) operates against its obligations to Māori. Examination of this Ministry for Children is due to its practices, especially around removing children from their families.
